Hello there,

It’s Dr. Lacey Brooks here bringing you the October edition of our newsletter.

October is always an exciting month full of pumpkin spice and spooky shenanigans, but did you know it is also National Audiology Awareness Month (NAAM)? That makes it a super exciting month for all of us here at North Houston Hearing Solutions. A whole month dedicated to raising awareness about all things hearing health?

Yes, please!

We would love it if you could join us in our mission to bring better hearing to everyone. In honor of NAAM, we will be busy on our social media sharing fun and helpful content that will hopefully raise awareness about keeping those ears of yours nice and healthy, and preserving your hearing for as long as possible.

Please head on over, give us a like, and share our information with your family and friends. The more people we reach, the more awareness we raise! Let’s do this!

For now, we have some fun facts and cool resources for you to take a look at!

Your October
Hearing Health Tip

It’s no big secret that exercise is good for the mind and body, but did you know that cardio, such as running, walking, swimming, and cycling, can get the blood pumping to your ears?

This helps the internal workings of your ear stay healthy and working at their full potential.

However, don’t forget to keep the volume down if you wear headphones while exercising, as this can damage your hearing!

Here is your October….

There is a man in England, living up to his second name! Johnny Strange was listed in the Guinness Book of Records in 2016 for pulling a Cessna 172-P airplane with his ears!

The plane weighed 1,494 lbs and he managed to pull it for 66.9 feet with chains through pierced holes in his ears. He’s been given the nickname “The man with ears of steel.” He has also previously been in the Book of Records for juggling chainsaws – there are some crazy records out there!
