North Houston’s Premier Clinic for Hearing Aid Repair Services
Are your hearing aids acting strange or did they stop working altogether? Maybe you’re thinking about tossing them in the junk drawer with all those other defective gadgets?
WAIT!
We understand your frustration with hearing aids that aren’t working right.
However, when your hearing aids perform the way they’re supposed to, the benefits far outweigh the frustration you’re going through—benefits like better communication, improved balance, enhanced cognitive function, and an overall increase in your quality of life.
Advanced-technology hearing aids are sophisticated technology and sometimes they require the right amount of TLC from a hearing instrument technician to keep them in top working order.
Is there a place in your area that provides local hearing aid repair services?
North Houston Hearing Solutions has you covered, providing troubleshooting, maintenance, and hearing aid repair for Spring, TX, and nearby communities.
Why Aren’t Your Hearing Aids Working?
Since we opened our doors in 2005, most of the hearing aids brought in for repair were linked to one (or more) of three causes:
01
Earwax Buildup
When built-up earwax gets into the device, it causes delicate electronic components to malfunction.
Daily cleaning with a soft bristle brush and/or soft cloth and changing wax guards or wax filters according to manufacturer specification can help prevent this issue from becoming a problem.
02
Too Much Moisture
Moisture is the archenemy of any type of electronics. In addition to causing components to short out, it can contribute to a faulty connection due to corrosion, especially in the battery compartment.
Removing your hearing aids before showering or swimming or using a sauna, steam bath, or hot tub is critical.
Moisture occurs naturally in your ears, so your daily cleaning regimen should include overnight air drying or the use of a dehumidifier or hearing aid dryer, especially in our humid environment.
03
Broken Components and Loose Wires
Daily wear and accidents, like dropping or stepping on your hearing aids, can cause damage to components or the device housing. Exposure to UV radiation from being left on a window sill or the dashboard of your car can also cause serious damage.
Whenever you clean your hearing aids or change their batteries or wax guards, put a towel or cloth on the work surface or work over your bed so they have a soft place to land if you drop them. Store them in their hard case when not in use to prevent accidental damage.
